Conjoined at birth and separated soon after, Tara follows a pair of twins, Tara and Chandan, whose life and family is defined by the events leading up to and resulting from this surgery. The surgery left Tara and Chandan impaired, physically (each only possess one real leg) and mentally, having to deal with ostracism and a host of other obstacles offered by this ...defect. Latent issues with gender inequality, the use of power, and the misuse or lack of human empathy unify under a tragic expression of family, sanity, and life itself.
